In 2014 Skeye has mapped over 100 onshore oil and gas locations for oil company NAM (a joint venture between Shell and Exxon Mobil). Due to the excellent cooperation, outstanding results and high regard for safety the NAM has decided to grant an additional order for the mapping of more than 100 locations in 2015. These locations are scattered throughout the Netherlands.
For each location Skeye produces a high resolution 3D point cloud, a digital elevation model (DEM), a digital terrain model (DTM), an orthophoto mosaic and 4 360 degree aerial panoramas at each corner. For the data acquisition Skeye uses two different types of drones, the Altura Zenith ATX8 and the Microdrone MD4-1000. Both multirotors are equipped with a high resolution photo camera. On the ground the ground control points are accurately surveyed using RTK GPS as well as some verification points. These verification points are used for the quality control to demonstrate that Skeye can achieve the required accuracies of 2.5 cm in X,Y and Z.
